The Oddbins Take

Some of the greatest collaborations are those that seem utterly bizarre. Take 'Beyond the Fridge,' by all accounts Peter and Dudley would start a small-scale riot nightly, while Alan Bennet watched on drinking tea from a bone china cup and lamenting the divorce of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes (Ted was a bit of a Bell Jar if we’re being honest). Yet they were excellent together (the Fringe boys, not Ted & Sylvia)!

Same story with La Plage White, a peculiar blend of Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay shouldn't work, yet it does. The Muscat delivers a floral and yellow fruit complexity, the Sauvignon a freshness of acidity and the Chardonnay an exquisite body and mouthfeel that all comes together to create a perfectly balanced wine. Now which grape is Jonathan Miller?
