The Oddbins Take

They Say

This particular vintage from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull is produced with some of the first peated spirit from the distillery when they started distilling back in 1996. It has been aged for just under 20 years with a finishing period in ex sherry casks, enhancing its wonderful array of flavours. On the nose it is filled with aromas of pineapple, golden barley, heather and the familair smokey peaty notes. The smoke continues onto the palate complimented by orange, toffee, double cream, and biscuity flavours. A long finish with touches of sultana lurking behind the smoky notes.

We Say

Think that Islay is the only place you can get your hands on a wonderfully peaty whisky, Ledaig are certainly here to prove you wrong! The Tobermory distillers most definitely know their way around a peated malt. This 18 year old single malt is rich and fruity with notes of smoke.
