The Oddbins Take

The grapes of these wines are grown on Hebridean soil, on the Isle of Lismore, in the middle of Loch Linnhe. O wait, that's a big fat lie; for one the Isle of Lismore has a population of 146 people and we're not sure you're even able to ripen potatoes there let alone grapes. Despite the fact this wine is a Pinot Noir from the Western Cape of South Africa, perhaps the link to Scotland is not such a bizarre one. The wine is rugged, tart, earthy and rich with woody spice; that sounds like a Scotsman alright. Surely this Pinot is destined to brighten the weather-beaten lives of the 146 on Lismore.
