If Aguila White Wine was a person, it'd have to be the Prince of Cool, Will Smith. Whether he's keeping it fresh in Bel Air or regulating extra-terrestrial life of earth, this dude is chilled, but wacky, with a dry wit that cheers you up no end, which pretty much sums up this modern, fresh, fruity but dry Macabeo, we thinks.

Altogether now, "In West Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days, chillin' out max and relaxin', all cool and all shootin' some b-ball outside the school..."

Bodegas Virgen del Águila is equipped with the latest technology and specialises in wines with an excellent price to quality ratio. It is a good example of "New Spain" wines, which tend to be cleaner and fresher. The vineyards produce a full range of whites, reds and rosés in different styles and price levels and have won major prizes. Located in northern Spain, with vineyards at high-altitude, Bodegas Virgen del Águila is fortunate to have ideal growing conditions in a stunning natural environment, leading to excellent wines at reasonable prices.

Producer Felipe Mendoza studied Oenology and Agricultural Engineering at the Catholic University in Santiago de Chile and completed his studies in Piacenza, Italy. He worked for several years in Santa Rita, a renowned winery in Chile and also in some others in California and Italy.

De-stemmed grapes undergo light maceration for five hours at 12ºC before temperature-controlled fermentation takes place at 18ºC. After being clarified and stabilised, the wine is filtered, before bottling.

Pale straw in colour, with greenish golden hues and a very crystalline aspect, this Macabeo has intense aromas of green apples and spice. On tasting, it is flavoursome and fruity, open and light, with floral and almond hints, and gentle citrus notes on the finish.
