Which isn't to say that, like a sharply tailored, ergonomic, becoming suit, it has depth of detail, class and attention to details.
Ripe, but never over-ripened, fruit perfectly balance with a fresh acidity, stony minerality from the soils it was grown and a rich round mouth feel that exudes from the rightfully confident wine that it is, sweety darling.
Les Chenes is a small sub-region of Chassagne-Montrachet, located in the Cote D’Or region of Burgundy. The village lies mid-slope underneath some the more famous Grand Cru’s and is a small parcel of land shared amongst only a few winemakers.
Domaine Alain Chavy abides by a philosophy of purity and elegance in all wines produced. Almost no chemicals are used in the vineyards and each grape is hand-picked during harvest to ensure only the finest of quality. Winemaking techniques are meticulously chosen to preserve purity of fruit and terroir, followed by storage in the Domaines famous underground cellar.
Cassagne-Monrachet 'Les Chenes' is made from 100% Chardonnay, barrel fermented in large casks to add complexity and depth but with limited oak influence. The wine is stored in cool underground conditions and undergoes partial malolactic fermentation to soften acidity creating an elegant palate of crisp citrus, white flower, hints of honey and stony minerality.
