It’s hard not to coo at little bottles of Champagne. We’ve seen grown men act like small girls on Christmas morning when they’ve seen our diddy lickle Champagne bottles. In the case of Billecart-Salmon Rosé, when these same men actually get round to drinking the stuff inside the bottle, they have been known to burst out crying, roll around lawns of daisies and do pirouettes for joy – for its fresh raspberries and cream, vanilla pod and cherry goodness makes them clean forget themselves. Often, they’re never the same again.
Billecart-Salmon Champagne originated in 1818 when Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon made the decision to create their own Champagne House in Mareuil-sur-Ay. It is one of the rare Champagne houses that still remain family owned their initial motto, ‘give priority to quality and strive for excellence’, still stands.
The Rosé combines a mixture of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir and is vinified as a red wine.
It is pale and bright pink in colour and adorned with warm glints of gold. The cuvée unveils subtle, beguiling aromas, leading to an elegant bouquet of fine notes of red fruits. Light elegant flavour with followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberries and cream.
