Fancy folk might describe father and son winemaking team, Willie & Gavin Brand, as autodidacts. We wouldn't, that's exactly the sort of word someone might use to distract from the fact they have zero real world experience even if they have swallowed a dictionary. Gavin and Willie are self-taught winemakers, you see, there's only so much you can achieve from booking learning before you've got to go outside and educate yourself. You can look at all the diagrams of vines you want but only experience will inform your decision when a springbok starts a crime syndicate in your vineyard (what? It could happen)!
Self-taught or not this South African White Rhone blend is succulently ripe while still retaining good natural acidity and an elegant mouthfeel. On the palate there are lifted flavours of melon, white peach, pear, pineapple and apricot. Get outside, you might learn something!
