Casa Lluch Tempranillo 2015

With its label's 'poulet-au-paisley' motif rightly predicting the sort of conspicuous and colourful happenings about to hit your palate via this lovely bottle of red wine, the tone is set for one of the most exciting new Spanish wine regions making the listings.

This is a wonderfully soft and harmonious red, with a low-tannin feel and a soft savoury note riding on the finish. Made from locally certified organically grown grapes. An absolute must try.

Bodegas Enguera was founded in 1999 and produce wines only from its own vineyards. At present, Bodegas Enguera possesses 160 hectares of vineyards, distributed between Fontanars dels Alforins, where they have approximately 60 hectares in the Casa Corones and Casa Lluch properties. Secondly they are in Enguera, where they have some 100 hectares located in various properties, the most important of which are the Antolín, Bañona, Benali, Toñuna and Venta Corrales. All their wines are certified organic.

This Tempranillo comes from higher elevation vineyards of clay and limestone, inland from Valencia. To the eye it is a dense, dark ruby hue and the nose is fragrant, with luscious raspberry and ripe blueberry fruits. On to the palate and the taste is fruity, rich complex with ripe flavours and a long, pleasant aftertaste with hints of strawberry jam. It would be ideal with smoky meats such as barbecued lamb chops.
