Created in 2008 The name Bellene comes from the ancient Gallic God of sun and beauty, Belenos. The city of Beaune was originally known as Belena during the Roman period, and from these historic titles Nicolas drew the name Bellene. ; Nicolas has kept the same sources for his wines throughout both négoçiants, and maintains the same hands-on relationship with the growers he has worked with for the last 15 years. The focus is on sourcing the best grapes from vines which are at least 40 years-old, and a vinification process that deeply respects both the individual terroirs and vintage style of these grapes.
