Château Bel Air Sainte Croix Du Mont 2010 - Half Bottle - 375ml
£11.25
"In Sainte-Croixe-du-Mont born and raised, in the vineyard is where I spent most of my days, hanging out fruit settin, reppin all cool, attracting some Botrytis out-side Leognan. When a couple of bugs they were up to no good started making trouble in my underwood, Luckily the growers gave me passion and care and now I've been bottled as Château Bel Air!" *Drops Mic*
That's enough of that silly business, this wine has a golden colour and a characteristic nose which combines notes of exotic fruits, wax, toast and spices. On the palate it is generous, with a smooth texture and classic 'botrytis' notes. Displays a good balance of acidity and sugar and retains its sucrosite without being cloying. A beautiful, luscious, honeyed, sweet white wine.
Chateau Bel Air is part of the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation and is located in one of the oldest known parts of the terroir. The estate has been passed down from generation to generation and remains in the hands of the same family today. Jean Guy Meric currently runs and manages the Vignobles Meric, which he took over from his parents.
Jean Guy Meric has taken an interest in the business from an early age having followed his fathers footsteps, quite literally following him around the estate before he could even talk! His curiosity grew as he did, observing and exploring the vineyards and later learning from those who tended the vines and their skills/ techniques. It was a natural progression when his father passed on his knowledge and eventually the estate. Since this point, Jean Guy expands his knowledge of producing sweet wines by remaining open minded to new oenological developments and winemaking techniques with all the advantages they can bring.
Only the best grapes from the vineyards are used for the Chateau Bel Air Sainte Croix du Mont. The fruit is hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is left to rest on its lees for 12 months before being bottled.
