Scientists have long been aware of the Left Brain Right Brain thing, but they've only recently realised that Bordeaux wines differ depending on whether they come from the Left or Right Bank of the river Garonne. Just as in the brain, each area has a certain bias.
Rip these Pomerol vines up and plant them over on the Left Bank, and they'd make a more logical, structured wine*. But leave them to their own devices where they are on the Right Bank, and you get a vibrantly artistic character, with a great sense of creativity and dimension.
*Please don't actually try this. We're just trying to make a point. You know, theoretically...
Chateau Le Gay has a long history as a Bordeaux wine estate in the Pomerol appellation that dates all the way back to the mid 1850’s.
