Domaines Ott Château Romasson Bandol Rosé 2020

There's a saying in AOC Bandol; "you're either Ott or you're not!" Well, it could be a saying, they may be French speakers down there and that could actually be a quote from mediocre action movie 'SWAT' but the message of the quote holds up. Domaine Ott is in many respects the barometer by which all Provence rosé is judged. They've been making outstanding wines, decades before the Brangelinas of the world started to saignée about the South of France.

Pale, with a smooth, full mouth-feel, expressing bright notes of pink grapefruit, raspberries and white orchard flowers; after trying this wine you may also find yourself announcing at summer soirees; "it's either Ott or it's not!"

In 1896 after a tour of France's many vineyards, Marcel Ott, a young graduate in agronomy engineering from Alsace, finally found an estate that inspired him. To set the scene, they are in Provence. The Mediterranean is lapping at the shore a mere stone's throw away. In these parts, growing wines is the legacy of ancient times. Alas, a short while before Marcel Ott's discovery, phylloxera had wreaked havoc on the vines. The land was cheaper but had been replanted too quickly and badly. The wine had lost a great deal of its soul in the vineyard's reconstruction. Marcell Ott bough several estates and began renovating them with the determined ambition to create great Provençal wines from noble grape varieties. Today, 120 years later, cousins Jean-Francois and Christian Ott dedicate their life to their ancestor's love for the site. In 2004, Domaines Ott joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.


Christian and Jean-Francois run three estates: Chateau de Selle, Clos Mireille and Chateau Romasson. Each of these properties has its own individual charm and personality. Each can be proud of their extremely elegant rosé, red and white wines. In their cellars reigns one sovereign wine: the famous ""Coeur de Grain"". This jewel of sophistication is considered the unrivalled queen of rose, all over the world.
