Let us set the scene: there's a family relay race that spans across hundreds of years. Each member of the Cattin family hurtles their way through acres of countryside and narrowly weaves between the vineyards, determined to hand on the baton. But as they approach the finish line and their hands connect, they exchange not a thin shaped piece of metal but a deliciously vibrant bottle of Pinot Noir. Behold... the Voegtlinshoffen Games! With luscious red fruit aromas and soft tannins, we advise you to sprint to one of our shops and keep the baton going.

For about for the past three centuries, the Cattin family have been pursuing its love for Alsace wine. In 1978, Antoine's sons Jacques and Jean-Marie picked up the family baton and a new dynamic developed in the favourable economic situation of the 1980s and 1990s. In 25 years, the two brothers overhauled their winemaking plant entirely. They now have two new winemaking storage facilities, a modern winery and packing equipment along with vineyards that now extended over close to 50 hectares. The two brothers also developed a business involving the purchase of grapes.

The Cattin Family harvests grapes from all over the Alsace appellation area. As a result, it benefits from all the qualities of the region and the combination of its terroirs when it makes its wine. The age of the vines and the soil are crucial elements for root development. The Cattin family takes into account these factors when cultivating vines that are now over 60 years old.

The fermentation cellar is built below the presses, so that the juice flows into it by gravity, thus preventing the oxidation of must, which protects the aromas. For that same purpose, the temperature of the fermentation tanks is accurately controlled. Finally, the wine is aged in traditional wooden barrels, some of which are over a hundred years old.

This Pinot Noir is soft and fresh, with flavours of cherry, raspberry and blackberry and is an excellent addition to rustic buffets and picnics featuring charcuterie, grilled meats and salads.
