This single malt whisky is made by Glenfarclas, in Scotland's whisky heartland, Speyside and is one of the only family owned distilleries in the country. They focus on making a traditional Speyside style malt influenced by ex-sherry oak barrels that gives their whiskies a generous dried fruit character. Glenfarclas 10yo is a golden, sweet and malty dram with a long slightly spicy finish.
Glenfarclas is gaelic for 'A Fair Class of it's Own'. The ancient gaelic philosopher Gail of Speyside also once declared, 'If ye burn ya backside you have to sit on yaself! Now wipe tha glaikit look off yer face and pour me a healthy sized dram'. Hence this lovely malt's Alter Ego is the pictish grandma. Old as the hills, rich in tradition but not afraid to speak her mind.
