Like something conceived in an Anne Rice novel this elegant Vermouth is a mystery that beckons to be unveiled. A concoction of Oloroso and PX sherries blended with botanicals of wormwood, clove cinnamon, nutmeg, angelica root and cinchona bark.

Poured into cut-glass and served chilled in the heat of the colonial riverside in New Orleans or in the dead of night in a 19th-century Parisian theatre. A secret whispered in the rolling silence of a boat belly. That becomes a welcome drink offered when arriving after a dusty carriage ride after a day's journey.

Gonzalez Byass was conceived in Jerez, Spain in 1835 by Manuel Maria Gonzalez. At the young age of 23 he decided to dedicate himself to the production and commercialisation of Sherry wines and spirits. In 1844 the first barrels of the now famous dry fino sherry, Tio Pepe were exported to London. Then in 1855 the company's UK distributor Robert Blake Byass was made a partner in order to consolidate links with the UK, the major market for Sherry wines. However nowadays the company is controlled by the Gonzalez family, now in its fifth generation.

The wine maker Antonio Flores bonds with González Byass date back to his very birth, which took place in the cellars themselves, just above the original Tío Pepe solera, where his father worked as Production Manager for the wineries. Antonio graduated in Oenology at the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona, he joined the technical team of González Byass in 1980.
Hard work and quality products has made this company one of the house hold names for sherry.
