This red is fast attaining cult status in our range. Ben Glaetzer, the winemaker behind this bright, perfumed and sensuous wine, is a talented little so-and-so, making wines to huge acclaim - and he's only in his thirties!
This would normally be sickening behaviour and one would happily dismiss him for being a precocious twerp. The unfortunate thing is, he's a genuinely nice, down to earth, funny guy. Hmm. He must have a fault though... maybe an embarrassing laugh? We live in hope.
Heartland Wines was created in 2001 by a group of leading figures in the South Australian wine industry, including vintner Ben Glaetzer. All Heartland wines are from the directors' own vineyards in the Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek, South Australia, and are made from fruit sourced predominantly from the Langhorne Creek region of South Australia by Ben, who has a philosophy of minimal intervention and low extraction. They have soft but firm tannins, show skillful use of oak and display full varietal flavours. Heartland wines are made to accompany but not dominate food.
