Huber Grüner Veltliner Nussdorfer 2016

We think they should scrap the 'H' and just call this delectable white wine 'Uber' instead. No, it's nothing to do with the handy transport service. It's because this yellowy-green drop of drink is a supreme example of Grüner Veltliner. It shows outstanding peppery, herbal and yellow-fruit driven aromas and flavours so typical of the variety whilst presenting a dense and complex yet elegant palate.

Ok, so it may be a bit much for us to ask Markus to change his name but that won't stop us shouting about how (H)uber-cool his wines are!

Markus Huber is based in the Traisental region of East Austria, where he produces his excellent quality dry white wines. Specialising in growing Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, Huber was named the best white wine producer in 2011 at the London International Wine Trade Fair.

As a boy, Markus dreamt of becoming a professional football player but, luckily for the wine world, decided to follow the family path into winemaking. He continues to aim to reflect the soils and unique character of every growing season through his wines, which have been counted amongst the best Austrian whites every year. With the help of his close-knit team he has achieved huge success, winning numerous awards on the international stage.

Huber’s Grüner Veltliner Nussdorfer is a medium green-yellow in appearance. The nose is offered a spiciness typical of the Grüner varietal with pepper, aromatic herbs and yellow fruit following through to the dense and complex palate.
