Laphroaig's Quarter Cask Whisky is double matured, first in standard ex-bourbon barrels then in quarter casks, to achieve double the flavour. Transferring the golden liquid to smaller casks increases its contact with the oak, resulting in a soft and velvety edge that beautifully compliments the distinctive peatiness of Laphroaig. Deep and full bodied, with aromas of toffee and caramel, caused by the vanilla and tannins of the American oak, this is a complex whisky that provides smoky flavours accompanied by a surprising yet gentle sweetness. The long finish offers smoke and spice as it dries on the palate.
Laphroaig distillery is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery making superb whiskies since 1815.
