This process, used since 1851, lends the liqueur distinctly rich aromas and flavours with caramel, marzipan, honeycomb and toffee notes.
Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli have produced the Lazzaroni Amaretto in Saronno, Italy, since 1851 following a family recipe. The Lazzaroni family originally operated under two different companies but in 1927 they joined to become one sole company producing both the Amaretto Liqueur and food products. In 1984, the biscuit branch of the company, D. Lazzaroni & C, was sold to an American buyer and today has no association with the family or the town of Saronno. However, Paolo Lazzaroni, namesake of his grandfather who began this venture, kept the 'Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli' company that continues to produce this Amaretto.
