An excellent expression of a much loved Italian varietal, grown in the stunning family owned Australian vineyard at the Longview Winery.
The wine is made using traditional winemaking methods, long maceration and the careful use of large alder oak. Light brick red in colour with aromas of dried strawberries, plums and wild berries. The palate is medium bodied with savoury notes of nutmeg, rose petal, spice and maraschino cherries. Bright acidity is the backbone of this remarkable wine, which lingers on the palate gracefully.
Longview Vineyard is located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. Set on undulating slopes reminiscent of classic old world estates, it has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards in the region since its first vintage in 2001. Longview Vineyard is a little warmer than other Adelaide Hills’ sites but its wine are decidedly cool climate in style, showing restraint and finesse without sacrificing depth.
