Longview 'The Whippet' Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Well. When we got into the business of selling wine, little did we imagine that we would become the go-to business for Whippet lovers nationwide. But, for obvious reasons, Longview winery’s Whippet Sauvignon Blanc has gone down a storm with the canine-loving community.

Thankfully, it happens to be a cracking little wine too. Racier than a Whippet in a field of sheep, it is bursting with gooseberry, asparagus and nettle flavours.

The estate is family owned and operated and contract winemaking is undertaken by Barossa Vintners, headed up by Ben Glaetzer. All wines are selected as single parcels in the vineyard and blended together with the Longview team.

Longview is a family-owned vineyard located just outside the township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. Set on undulating slopes reminiscent of classic old world estates, the vineyard is a little warmer than other Adelaide Hills sites, but its wines are still decidedly cool climate in style, showing restraint and finesse without sacrificing depth.

Longview has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards in the region since its first vintage in 2001. South Australia's Adelaide Hills is undoubtedly Australia's leading Sauvignon Blanc region and the team at Longview consistently produce one of the finest examples.
