The source of this great wine comes from within the unique, walled vineyard of Clos Vougeot. The Cistercian monks enclosed the entire area many moons ago (work completed 1336) with a dry stone wall. Hence if a wine comes from this Grand Cru than it's from a highly defined & very limited amount of grape vine.

About 80 folks each have a plot within the walls too. All squabbling over who makes the best wine. Thus if you get your hands on a bottle of this one, you're in for a big treat.

Marchand Tawse Clos Vougeot's version is a rich red packed with dark currants and cinnamon spices. Followed by mushroom and warm, earthy notes on the finish. It can age for up to 20 years too. Incidentally, this beautiful vineyard also has a rose named after it.

The Chateaux Clos De Vougeot Climbing rose - named after the intensely deep red robe of this remarkable Burgundian red wine.

This winery has a relatively modern birth for a Burgundian producer; in 2005. Both a winery and a 'micro-negociant' based in Nuits St George.

A joint operation between Quebec-born, renowned winemaker Pascal Marchand and proprietor Morey Tawse. Using biodynamic techniques, minimal intervention, wild yeasts and as little amount of manipulation as possible to allow the wines to express each appellation the grapes are grown in.

They make a range of outstanding wines from the terroirs of Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits.
