Created by James Rackham, founder of artisanal spirits company Emporia Brands and Mayfield Distilling Co. liveryman of The Worshipful Group of Distillers and resident of Mayfield, E.Sussex. The label depicts the tale of St. Dunstan’s Lucky Horseshoe, an epic tale which, as the story goes, happened in Mayfield Village. It’s time for a tale of some very fine gin liqueurs… “The old Devil returned to the village of Mayfield, his cloven hoof broken and lame, his pride a bit tattered too. St. Dunstan, amid his holy fires, with silver ore and clanging irons, forged for him a red-hot shoe. Seven blows and the Devil was tricked, a fiery arc to his hoof affixed and forever since has Sussex lived beneath the luck of St. Dunstan’s horseshoe.”
Made with Mayfield Sussex Hop Gin with natural Elderflower and fresh Peach, this natural gin liqueur offers lifted floral aromas of marzipan and pine. The palate adds fresh peach flesh into the mix, with the juniper berries making their presence felt. The liqueur sweetness is perfectly balanced with slight bitterness, and the finish is clean and long.
