In 1880, Joseph Drouhin chose the city of Beaune to found the business that bears his name. Over the years and with each generation, his passionate search for excellence and knowledge was handed down like a family heirloom.

Moulin à Vent is the crown jewel of the family heirloom. A beautiful dark garnet colour, with intense and elegant aromas of peony, tea rose and damson plum, often with nuances of liquorice. On the palate, a beautiful structure, velvety texture and majesty. The aftertaste is long, refined and appetising in a subdued way. It is considered the Cru of Beaujolais that is the closest in style to the Burgundies of the Cote d'Or.

Joseph Drouhin was an enterprising young man who came from the Chablis region. In 1880, at the age of 22, he settled in Beaune and founded his own wine company. His aim was to offer wines of great quality that would bear his name. His son Maurice succeeded him and began to establish a vineyard domaine for the House and purchased some outstanding appellations. Robert Drouhin, who succeeded Maurice in 1957, gave the domaine its present dimension, acquiring many vineyards, especially in Chablis where he was able to recognise the true potential. Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric are Robert and Françoise Drouhin's four children. They uphold the values of the House and its constant quest for quality, for the pleasure of all those who have a deep appreciation for the natural elegance of Burgundy.
