Early in the careers of these vintners, they managed the vineyards and winemaking for other companies' wine brands. Given their prodigious skill, unsurprisingly they were often asked why they didn't make their own wine. Yet, just like a promiscuous young man in a half-decent rom-com, they were waiting on their 'dare to be great’ moment.
One Spring day in 2014, a member of the team Instagrammed a photo of an abandoned monastery that sat atop one of the vineyards they managed. The photo was so hauntingly beautiful that they thought it would make a great label, so they printed it out and taped it to a wine bottle. Visitors excitedly asked if they were finely making their own wine. After what seemed like hundreds of enquiries it was obvious that it was a SIGN! They needed to make their own wine, and thus OMEN was born.
