Orgo Rkatsiteli 2015

Orgo Rkatsitelli is essentially a natural, Georgian, orange wine. Never heard of them? We're not surprised, up until 6 months ago, we thought Georgia was a US state. Apparently, it's actually a small sovereign nation in the Middle East, formerly under the despotic rule of the Soviet Union, who knew? The other thing to know about Georgia is their orange wine is super cool, we're talking a gent in a lumberjack shirt, Viking beard, listening to a band that only produce sound that's audible to canines, cool. This wine has all that style, with none of the pretence, it's full of rich peach & citrus flavours that'll mean you're unlikely to forget this wine, even if you can't pronounce it.
This small artisal winery, located in the Kakheti AOC in Eastern Georgia, is a project between the famous Georgian winemaker Gogi Dikishvili and his son Temur Dikishvili. The combination of experience and wisdom along with youth and energy makes for a fantastic partnership which honours the family winemaking tradition but yet instils a freshness each year. The mission of this partnership is to make singularly unique wines that add elegance and refinement to the Georgian winemaking tradition.
