This is a real joy for us and we’ll tell you why. We go way back with Pink Fuchsia’s parents, Red Boar (a fruity, spicy red) and Green Fish (an aromatic, banana-y white). So when we heard that these two had produced baby Fuchsia, we were delighted for them. Fuchsia is a crisp, raspberry and cherry-laden beauty, that has all the vibrant fruitiness of its parents, but with a distinctive, fresh pepperiness of its own. Welcome to the family, Fuchsia.
Winemaker Ruben Perez is experienced started out doing a degree in chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain) and then became a Master in Viticulture, Oenology and Wine Marketing. He then went on to become the Technical Director at Bodegas Milenium in Ourense, Spain and has gone on to be a winemaker at wineries of varying sizes throughout the country.
Handcrafted, but using modern winemaking techniques, the grapes are separated from the stalks before being pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at 17ºC.
Mild cherry in colour, with a graceful, almost effervescent quality, the nose boasts flavours of cherry, blackberry, raspberry and plums, with hints of balsamic vinegar coming through. The palate is elegant and well-balanced, with a silky mouth-feel and fresh acidity.
