We don't know about you, but we get mildly irritated when we see pretty-in-pink, butter wouldn't melt in their mouth-type lasses. Part of us just thinks they should get some mud on their frocks and join the real world. But then we think, actually, vive la difference; there is a place for dainty little things as there is a place for everything.

In fact, we quite like some of them - such as this happy-go-lucky, fresh and peachy Pinot Grigio Blush from the rolling hills of Veneto. In fact, this wine makes us want to put on a tutu and go skipping around some hillsides ourselves.

The Cantina di Soave was founded in 1898 and is today one of Italy’s most prestigious wine producers and owns over 6,000 hectares of vineyards.

Faithful to its tradition of constant growth and to careful attention to the distinctive characteristics of each single growing area, Cantina di Soave has created over the years a rich portfolio of vineyards dedicated for the most part to growing the area’s native grape varieties, in particular the Garganega grape, which produces Soave, as well as Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella, which yield Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone. Their goals are to further develop the varieties’ quality potential and to contribute to their long tradition, to which Cantina di Soave feels itself strongly bound. As the latest pearl in its already-precious strand, Cantina di Soave has acquired the Montecchia di Crosara cellar, whose standard-bearer, Durello, is produced from the indigenous durella grape.

Technical Director and winemaker Filippo Pedron was born and raised in Trentino, an area in northern Italy famous for wine and viticulture. Born into a wine-making family, Filippo was exposed to the industry and immediately became fascinated. He studied at the Technical Agrarian Institute of San Michele all'Adige in Trentino, one of the most respected oenological schools in Italy. Filippo began his career working in Tuscany, a world-renowned region for producing quality wines. From 1981 to 1995 Filippo worked to master the secrets of Tuscany's famous reds. He worked for Mercatale Val di Pesa (Firenze) where he was responsible for vinification, refining, and bottling. He then took on the role of Technical Director for Castello d'Albola, a winery in the Chianti Classico Zone. Since 1996 Filippo has worked as the Technical Director for Cantina di Soave. His earlier experience of working with red wines in Tuscany has resulted in his appreciation for the indigenous red varietals of the Veneto: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.

Pinot Grigio grapes are blush vinified, i.e. they have a short maceration with the skins in order to get the typical rosè colour; light and fruity with a fresh and delicate taste.
