Macon Villages wine displays richness and depth that is signature to the wineries traditional methods. Weeks of fermentation give the wine its richness in flavours of fresh cut hay, white flower and pear fruits with notes of citrus acidity shining through. Potel-Aviron is one of Beaujolais and Burgundy's most exciting projects. It all began when Nicolas Potel met Stéphane Aviron at the prestigious oenology school in Beaune. Nicolas Potel is the sone of the late Gerard Potel who owned Burgundy's Domaine de la Pousse d'Or. Nicolas is considered one of the most talented young winemakers in Burgundy. Stéphane Aviron was raised in a winemaking family in Beaujolais and has some fantastic contacts in the region and they are now creating some extremely exciting wines. The Macon Villages is sourced from old vines in the Maconnais, the southernmost part of Burgundy.
