The Alvarinho, full of tropical fruit and structure, contrasts with the Loureiro, floral and full of elegance, which gives this white wine with a unique balance. ALLO is a vibrant and precise white wine with a peculiar balance due to the moderately low alcohol content. The grapes come from the Lima Valley, on granitic soils. The grapes, Alvarinho and Loureiro, are harvested by hand in boxes of small capacity. After the pressing and before the fermentation with controlled temperature, the must is cold soaked for 48 hours at low temperature. Preserving freshness and giving the final wine a glorious texture.

Allo to you too! French café owner, Rene Artoips became bored of existing only in the realms of an 80s BBC sitcom, set in Nouvion, during the French resistance. He seemed to be under the impression that the entire thing was propped up by physical gags, ridiculous fake accents, broad cultural clichés and far too much sexual innuendo. "My mother-in-law's name is Madame Fanny La Fan, for goodness-sake, who are we writing this for, pre-pubescent boys... you silly old bat?" He bellowed in broken English. Thus, he dashed off to Portugal to make a wonderful white wine with rich flavours of tropical fruit and white flowers, naming it for the life he'd given up. We may have got this wrong, the wine might be called Allo because it's made with the grapes Alvarinho & Loureiro.

Quinta de Soalheiro, located in Melgaço (the most northern point of Portugal), is protected by a range of mountains that create conditions of rainfall, temperature and sunshine hours necessary for the best ripening of the Alvarinho grapes. This very special microclimate led João Antonio Cerdeira to plant the first Alvarinho vine in 1974 and to create, in 1982, the first Alvarinho brand in Melgaço – ""Soalheiro"".
