Now, we're not the biggest fans of Napoleon. Shock, we know, sorry to disappoint all those that came here for Napoleonic propaganda, you aren't getting any. He tried to invade Russia which the historians among us all know is stupid, he somehow escaped Elba and he was insecure about his minute stature, some say he had a bit of a complex about it. Despite that extensive assessment of Napoleon's character, he did have one undeniable quality; he had excellent taste in wine. Famed for his love of Burgundian reds, with wines like Remoissenet Gevrey Chambertin with its intense red fruit, gamy flavours and its incredible longevity you can see why Bonaparte claimed "Nothing makes the future look so rosy as to contemplate it through a glass of Chambertin." Viva la France!
