Pouilly-Fuisse is a bit of a Cinderella of the wine world. What with being from the Maconnais it doesn't seem to get the same level of respect as whites from the Beaune. The rest of Burgundy is constantly chanting "fix the breakfast, Pouilly-Fuisse! Wash the dishes, Pouilly-Fuisse!" Well, we're here to tell these wines, "you shall go to the ball!" You see, despite the Maconnais not having the acclaim of Beaune wines, Pouilly-Fuisse is arguably the best wines around Macon and on their day, can compete with the whites of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. With a rich structure and defined aromas of ripe peach, apricot and creamy pastry, better break out the glass slipper because this wine is a perfect fit for many an occasion!
