It is fair to say we're big fans of white Burgundy at Oddbins, in fact we've been known to walk up to so called ‘ABC drinkers’ asking them if they’d like to try a glass of Sauvignon Blanc then exclaim “ha, that was Chardonnay,” after they tell us how much they love it.
That said, the wines of Remoissenet are another level, their whites are astoundingly textural; it’s like putting on a cashmere cardigan for the first time, so soft and smooth that it’s hard to go back to normal wool.
The Bourgogne Blanc has a velvety mouthcoating palate, medium-bodied with beautiful flavours of peach, apricot yoghurt, white flowers and buttery pastry yet this rich flavour profile is balanced by a clean, linear acidity. It may even be a better buy than that cashmere scarf you’ve been eyeing up.
