Deceptively delicate, Etienne de Loury's Sancerre Rosé will blow you clean away with its concentrated, clean red fruits and fresh-as-a-daisy, morning dew-esque minerality.

What was it Muhammed Ali said? 'Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee'? Well this doesn't sting like a bee, rather it does a double somersault with a half twist up to you and, instead of knocking you out, lands a delicate kiss on your forehead. Lovely.

Winegrowers for 10 generations, the Etienne de Loury winery, based in the famous village of Chavignol, close to the one of Sancerre, is operated entirely by gravity. Spectacular if you ask us. The families philosophy, from the vineyard management right through to the bottling process, is to respect the environment and allow the nature to express its talent.

Winemaker Adrien Gaudiat is a Graduate Oenologist from the Bordeaux University and is passionate about allowing the terroir shine through in the wines.

The juice is obtained by draining (‘bleeding’) tanks of Pinot Noir after 48 hours of cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks at 15-18°C and the wine is then matured for three to four months on its fine lees.

Planted mainly on chalky-clay soils, the density of the fruits (ripe red fruits) and the refreshing character of this rose will seduce you with its particularly well-balanced structure.

This refreshing, very fruity rosé has a seductive bouquet of ripe red fruits. It's easy to drink, fresh and particularly well-balanced in structure and aromas.
