Even the novelisation of Hannibal Lector preferred to pair liver and fava beans with Amarone opposed to Chianti. What Hannibal lacked in dietary decorum, he made up for with his excellent taste in wine… A bit… Good wine picks are no justification for cannibalism… we just want to be clear on that point.
So, you may now ask, can any bottle best a bottle of Amarone? Of course, one that’s twice as big!
Founded in 1898 Sartori are a powerhouse in Verona. There focus has always been on classic Italian winemaking, while also exploring modern vineyard and winery practices. They have recently moved to organic winemaking but are yet to be certified.
Select Hand-picked grapes are carefully air dried on wooden racks for 100 days. Traditional pressing and fermentation are followed by a minimum of 3 years in aged Slavonian oak cask.
