We like to think of Merlot as being the Shia LaBeouf of wines. We're talking Shia LaBeouf in Fury, not Shia LaBeouf with the brown paper bag on his head reading "I'm not famous anymore." We're not sure what grape is brown paper bag LaBeouf, perhaps Thompson seedless. Merlot is French in name, French in heritage yet it's also decidedly Californian. In this warm, glamorous climate Merlot develops a rich texture with intense aromas of dried figs, blackcurrants and cinnamon, with flavours of anise and liquorice, blackberry jam and notes of cloves and caraway.
Produced by Terravant Wine Company exclusively for Oddbins. They have built a $30 million custom wine centre. Terravant’s philosophy is to craft wines that over-deliver on quality while still true to the style and varietal they’re working with.
