House Greyjoy do not share in the silk adorned luxury of the southern lords of Westeros. On the isolated Iron Islands there is little that grows or can be made so the hardened seafaring warriors of the Iron Born ‘pay the iron price’ for goods and services (they loot the mainland). It is fair to say sea-air, salt and smoke are in the blood of the Greyjoys, making this whisky the perfect partner of the house.
On a similarly isolated island the Talisker distillery finds its home, and it is the rugged sea drenched shores of the Isle of Sky that imbue this whisky with its characteristic maritime profile.
