Chile's Leyda valley is squeezed between the Andes and the Pacific, its climate dominated by dense fogs and the strong sea wind that gives this winery its name. Just the kind of harsh conditions that enable the perversely delicate and difficult Pinot Noir grape to thrive - or, rather, to make the wine derived from it seriously reward the extra effort it demands of its grower. Like the best of northern California and Central Otago, this black cherry and raspberry scented bundle of subtle complexity is a wine to give the old buffers of Burgundy a thing or two to think about.

In 2005, Vicente Izquierdo founded the winery and since the beginning Ventolera only selects the best grapes to make wines that show the personality and expression of this coastal appellation. In 2011 Stefano Gandolini joined Ventolera as a partner and Chief winemaker. His passion can only be described as the True expression of Terroir and his international award-wining reputation supports his commitments.
