Viu Manent Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2015

Lady Chardonnay is the benevolent ruler of this kingdom. Whilst being one of the noble grape varieties of the world, she is also an approachable, diligent grape that'll grow in many different lands and conditions. Her Majesty provides bountiful fruit for the mineral-laden wines of Chablis to the ripe, rich wonders from California.

One moment she joins the field workers and provides a cool drink dressed as a simple unadorned white. The next thing she appears in Viu Manet's stately form from in Colgagua, Chile. In this Grand Reserva incarnation, she embraces ripe white fleshed fruits and juicy citrus. Standing at the high table, alongside the finest dishes in the kingdom robed in french oak and silk. This Chardonnay is an aristocratic yet generous white wine.

Viu Manent is a vineyard owned by the Viu family in Chile. Formed the year 1935 when Catalan-born Miguel Viu García and his two sons Agustín and Miguel Viu Manent founded Bodegas Viu in Santiago de Chile. In 1966, Miguel Viu Manent dreamed of making his own wines, which materialized when he acquired the Hacienda San Carlos de Cunaco in Colchagua.

This ancient vineyard has 150 hectares of old and noble French pre - phylloxera vineyards. This winery also owns vineyards elsewhere in the Colchagua Valley namely La Capilla and El Olivar. 254 hectares (627 acres) in total. Viu Manet operates on a sustainable and carbon neutral basis.
