The Palate 2013 - The Prizes

The Palate 2013 - The Prizes

As if being awarded the prestigious title of "The Palate 2013" wasn't enough, our winner will also receive a luxury trip of a lifetime… A ten day wine holiday for two in Australia and New Zealand, courtesy of Robert Oatley and Giesen Wines. This will include flights, 3 days in Sydney, 2 days on the stunning paradise of Hamilton Island (owned by Robert Oatley), 3 days in Auckland and 2 days in Blenheim (including a visit to the Giesen Winery, lunch and a wine tasting). Want more? OK then, we'll throw in £1000 of spending money. Now that's a prize! But it doesn't stop there…

For all finalists - The Boot Camp

The Palate - The Judges Our ten finalists will be given the chance to attend a wine tasting boot camp hosted by the UK wine industry’s power couple, Susie Barrie MW and Peter Richards MW. This is an incredible opportunity and we can think of no finer way to hone your skills. For all participants - Free Wine! The Palate takes the form of a series of blind wine tastings. It is completely free to enter. So that means you get to try wine for free! Can’t be bad, huh? But our generosity doesn’t stop there. We will be giving away hundreds of bottles of wine for those who progress through the first two rounds as well.

Select wines for the Oddbins range...

Our winner will also be given the opportunity to choose a wine for Oddbins’ shelves, which will be sold nationwide. That’s right; you could win the opportunity to play at “Wine Buyer” for Oddbins! Last year’s winner, Fran Evans, chose the wonderful La Closerie des Lys Chardonnay. To read more about this winning wine, click here.
