Carménère

A big, jolly softy, is Carménère. You’ll never be caught off-guard by his sharpness, dryness or firmness, but you’re certain to enjoy his happy-go-lucky, fruity charm, that has made him such a success in Chile. Carménère actually started off in Bordeaux, where it used to go out with Cabernet Sauvignon but, with the exception of a few Châteaux, it has been squeezed out of that relationship. Not that our chirpy friend minds much: Chile’s more his scene and he is just fine on his own, thank you very much!
