Pinot Grigio

The perfect companion to a warm summer’s evening, Pinot Grigio is the fun-loving Italian singleton who can’t seem to settle down with another grape. You can catch him whizzing past on his Vespa, with the wind in his hair, singing That’s Amore with gay abandon. Sometimes he takes his moped up to the Alsace, in northern France, where he becomes a rather more intense and expansive (the cooler climate does affect him) and shows off some riveting pear and flower-flavours under the pseudonym Pinot Gris. Trips to Australia and elsewhere in the New World can have a similar effect.
